Our school Vision

This week in our work on the school's Strategic Plan we looked at what the Vision means for us. The Vision is "A passion for lifelong learning".

Some of our ideas were:

  • School wants us to enjoy learning about new things. It wants us to keep on learning after we leave school. (Paige)

  • I like the vision because it will make me enjoy learning for all of my life. (Isabella)

  • I think it says we should stick to learning and study.(Baimon)

  • It means keep on learning all my life;learning all the time;never stop learning things; trying new experiences; challenging yourself; finding out new things. (Leo)

  • The teachers try to get the children to love learning so much they don't want to stop in their entire lives. After they leave school they will still want to learn new things to make their lives more interesting. (Charlotte)

NCS Values

In our class we have ben talking abour our school Strategic Plan. This is a document that is very important to us at Central because it says what is important to us all and tells everyone about the things we are aiming for.
In our homework we had to choose one of our values from the Strategic Plan and write about what that means for us when we are at school.
Our Values are:
  • Doing our best,
  • Getting along with others,
  • Making good choices,
  • Looking after the world.

Some of our ideas were:

  • Doing our best means trying our hardest in our work. (Grace)
  • Doing our best means I try my best at handwriting, to listen in class and at everything at school. (Louie)
  • Getting along with others means playing nicely, not hurting others, and trying to sort sort problems out. (Jack)
  • Making good choices means not bullying, helping my friends, listening well in class and playing with people who don't have anyone to play with. (Logan)
  • Making good choices also means sitting still and listening to the teacher, doing your homework and bringing it back and if a friend asks you to do something and you don't think it is a good idea - don't do it! (Ella)
  • Looking after the world means recycling rubbish and not cutting down trees. It means saving animals, looking after each other and people who aren't as lucky as us. (Charlotte)
  • Looking after the world also means trying to pick up rubbish around the school and reusing plastic bags. (Baimon)

Dead Precious

Last week we went on a trip to the Museum to see the Dead Precious exhibition. We saw lots of different types of fossils and learnt about how fossils are made and about some of the prehistoric creatures that lived long ago. There was so much to find out and although some of us had been before we didn't seem to have enough time there!
