Brook Sanctuary Trip
On Tuesday December eighth Room 3 and Room 6 went to the Brook sanctuary to look at the steam there. We had lots of parents with us too. When we got there we were put in groups. The first thing my group did was to measure the flow of the stream by how fast a tennis ball could float over ten metres.
Then we went and caught bugs in the stream. Lochie caught three freshwater crayfish. I caught lots of mayflies and Dobson flies as well.
The range of bugs showed the stream was quite healthy.
Then we went back to school.

Hi Room 3 and 6. Wow, that's an interesting story! Your trip sounds fun. It must have been fun seeing how fast the river flowed. We are learning to do Bloggs. That is fun as well. We are Room 4 at St Patrick's School, Bryndwr in Christchurch. How many creatures did you catch at the river?. You are lucky. We wish we could come. How fast did the tennis ball go? What topic are you studying now? We are setting up our own Blogg this week. We would like to hear from you.
